Summer is the perfect time to focus on YOU — your growth, your strength, and your gymnastics goals. While the regular season may slow down, summer is when champions are made. It’s your chance to go back to the fundamentals, strengthen your basics, and finally unlock those new skills you’ve been dreaming about…while having fun!

Whether you’re working at home, in open gym, or during summer training, this blueprint gives you 12 essential skills to target — with progressions designed to help you move step-by-step toward success.

Summer Glow Up Blueprint

This blueprint is designed to work on both basic and upskills one week each, for the summer. Make sure you stay consistent – consistency is key! This is not just a random list of drills. Each skill included is semi-challenging but safe to work on over the summer, especially for motivated. You’ll work through each skill using progressions that gradually build strength, technique, and confidence and set a focus, a SMART goal, work on the progressions each day and evaluate at the end of the week.

  1. Handstand
  2. Press Handstand
  3. Split Leap
  4. Switch Leap
  5. Sissoné
  6. Tour Jeté
  7. Turn with Leg at Horizontal
  8. Hop with Leg Above Horizontal
  9. Tuck Jump 1/2 Turn
  10. Handstand Pirouette
  11. Back Handspring Drills
  12. Wolf Turn
