Gymnasts are always asking me what they can do at home on their own to improve their skills. There are lots of ways to work on your strength and flexibility, as well as other skills that need little or no equipment. In addition to learning from your coaches, I think it’s important to learn from and get inspired by other gymnasts. There are some great gymnasts with Instagram accounts who I think can help motivate you when you might be struggling. I reached out to some of these gymnasts to find out what kind of exercises they do at home to get better.

An answer I heard a LOT was handstands. In fact, I already did a roundup on some gymnasts who make handstands a part of their normal workout routine at home. But what else can you do? Keep reading below for some great suggestions!

  1. I do leg tightening every day at home and it’s honestly been the most beneficial thing I have ever done. I started it over Christmas last year when my flicks were literally soooo froggy and when I got back from holidays they were so much better to the point where it was like a different person. Google leg tightening and please do it xx
