My daughter went to two prior gyms before Arena. Arena has a well-lit, well kept/maintained facility, with plenty of equipment and coaches. At other gyms, my daughter was standing around or sitting down about 5x more than she was actually doing anything, because she was always waiting her turn, and turns seemed to come slowly. At Arena, this is not the case. They of course do take turns, but for example the balance beams are plentiful enough that her whole class of 9 can be on one at once. Instructors are knowledgeable. Very. At prior gyms, they'd introduce a skill and if she got the basics, they'd be happy and move on to the next kid. at Arena, it seems as if every kid, every try is critiqued to make their form better, their body stronger. There is also a lot more than cursory focus on conditioning. The girls may hate it, but you can't do what they want to do without a lot of strength. I also feel that my daughter is safer there, even though she's doing harder stuff now. They seem to watch the girls more closely. So a great improvement for us. It's a drive for me, but this is worth it, and proof in the pudding is my daughter is very happy there. and that and her safety are what's important.
