Tammy Biggs has been a member of the women’s national team coaching staff since 1986. She travels the country lecturing at national and regional coaching conferences and coaching at elite camps to help develop future Olympians. She coached 1988 Olympian Missy Marlowe and was a member of the 1996 Olympic team coaching staff.
I had the pleasure of hearing her lecture on a couple different topics recently, and let me just tell you she is AMAZING! I was in awe of how she makes teaching different body shapes look so easy. And how she is able to break down elements with different drills.
Here are some videos of her teaching various drills and developmental exercises.
Developing Body Shapes for Gymnastics
You can do this drill at home, no equipment needed!
Developing Flexibility for Gymnastics
Conditioning, Shaping & Flex with Sliders
This is a clip from Tammy Biggs’ video Conditioning, Shaping & Flex with Sliders. She is using these sliders from DGS.
Developing Leaps and Jumps
This is a clip from her Developing Leaps & Jumps for Gymnastics DVD.
Developing Great Round-offs
This is a clip from Tammy Biggs’ Developing Great Round-Offs DVD.
I hope these videos gave you some different ideas for practicing gymnastics at home or at the gym.
