Gymnastics Flexibility Check

That dreaded word…flexibility. So many gymnasts despise working on flexibility because it’s just not that fun. Despite the fact that it’s one of the chore aspects of gymnastics, it’s SO important to consistently work on improving your flexibility. Many gymnasts think that flexibility only includes working on your splits, however that’s just not true! Shoulder flexibility is another vital aspect on working on your active flexibility. There are so many skills that require good shoulder flexibility – a bridge, back handspring, even handstands require good active shoulder flexibility.

When looking at leg flexibility, we all know that there are required angle degrees depending on your level. Sometimes it’s difficult to know where you are at versus where you need to be to achieve your level’s required angle degree.

We created this Gymnastics Flexibility Check to provide a visual of where you are currently and to also track your improvement. You can use this checklist as a goal measurement tool for your leg and shoulder flexibility for several different skills.

We hope this helps in your flexibility goals!
