We created a series of drills and exercises that you can do at home in less than 15 minutes a day that can improve your handstands and get your form in great shape for this season!!
Handstands are SO important to your routines and scores. And with a good handstand you can perform so many other skills. Being able to hold your handstand with control means you can work bigger skills like press handstands, handstand pirouettes, and cast handstands. Yet, too often coaches don't have time in practice to devote to practicing just handstands. But we can help!

At only $7 for the monthly challenge, it's the best bet you'll ever make. Join a community of other gymnasts all working towards a common goal, in this case, a better handstand.
STEP 2: You'll Login & Start Completing the Daily Challenges
You'll get an email with instructions on how to create your account. Then you'll login and start completing the daily challenges.
STEP 3: After You Complete the Challenge You Can Redeem your Points for Prizes*
After you complete challenges you will earn points which you can redeem for prizes in the SkillTrakker Prize Store!
Think again! Did you know that gymnasts can get so many deductions on their handstand if they don't hit the proper angle, have good form, and hold it for the required amount of time? You can seriously rack up deductions on this one skill alone? Elite gymnasts know the importance of these elements and can work on them for hours just to get them right. But we bet you're not spending hours on your handstands, right?
The truth is, even though you're spending a lot of hours in the gym, you're focusing on learning and perfecting the bigger skills. If you ask any judge they'll tell you that handstands in your floor and beam routines are such important skills.
That's a great question and we have a great answer for you.
The amount of progress you make during this challenge will depend 100% on how much effort you put into your daily challenges! These exercises are designed to give you the most bang for your buck over the next 30 days. But if you don't do them or only do them halfway, then chances are you won't see much of a difference between your day 1 video and your day 30 video.
BUT...if you put in the daily effort and try your hardest, you can make great progess like Cindy did in one of our previous Handstand Challenges!
I train in the gym a lot of hours during the week and I'm worried I won't have the time to complete this challenge?
We know how much you train which is why we created a challenge that can be done in a short amount of time each day. You can do the exercises in the morning before you go to school or even right before bed. These exercises were designed to be focused and effective so it doesn't take much time each day to see results.
My coach doesn't want me practicing at home because s/he's worried I'll pick up bad habits.
We understand why your coach wouldn't want you to develop any bad habits and we don't want you to either. Luckily the exercises you're going to do during this Better Handstands Challenge are all ones that will benefit you. We provide you with videos so you can see the proper way to do the drills and because handstands aren't major elements like backhandsprings or giants we're certain you'll get more good out of this challenge rather than pick up bad habits. In fact, any work at all on your leaps and turns will be beneficial to you.
Is this a LIVE challenge?
Yes! You'll be completing daily challenges on the same day as the other participants in the challenge. You'll be able to track your progress and see where you stand on the Leaderboard. It's a great way to stay motivated and have a little friendly competition with other gymnasts working on the same goal as you.
What exactly IS SkillTrakker? I can't really tell.
First and foremost, SkillTrakker is an online community of other gymnasts who are working on mastering different gymnastics skills. In SkillTrakker you can keep track of the different skills you're learning on each event and watch the progess you're making. You can even download certificates as you master each skill! You earn points for completing daily challenges and with your points you can win prizes in the SkillTrakker Store. In the daily feed you can see what other gymnasts are learning and cheer them on through comments and high fives. Basically, SkillTrakker is a really cool way to practice your gymnastics skills while staying motivated and belonging to a community of other cool gymnasts like yourself! Coming soon is our SkillTrakker Forum within our SkillTrakker tool. You'll be able to talk to other gymnasts about topics related to gymnastics.
How long is this challenge?
This challenge lasts 31 days. It starts on Tuesday, October 1st and ends on Thursday, October 31st.
Does it cost money to join the Better Handstands Challenge?
Yes, in order to participate in the SkillTrakker Challenge you must be signed up for SkillTrakker which costs $7 for the month. At only $7, this is an incredible deal!! You'll not only get daily challenges, community, and accountability, but you'll also get a prize* and you'll improve your handstand! In fact, the cost of a typical recreational gymnastics class in the U.S. averages about $20/hr. The cost for private gymnastics lessons is at least double that. With SkillTrakker you get skill-specific exercises to complete at home , in addition to a tracking tool and an entire gymnastics community, for less than 25 cents per day!!! Oh, and don't forget about the prize you can earn for completing all of the daily challenges for the duration of the challenge.
What happens after the challenge is over?
After the challenge is over you can continue to participate in SkillTrakker monthly (for $7/month) to see even better results. Skill-specific challenges (like the Better Handstands Challenge) occur approximately every two months. In the off-months we have created Daily Challenges meant to increase your skill mastery of a variety of skills. The Leaderboard gets cleared at the beginning of every month and you'll still earn points towards prizes in the SkillTrakker store. Most challengers find that their skills really see improvement after three to six months of consistent effort with SkillTrakker.
