How can I be a better gymnastics
Alissa March 29, 2017, 7:53 pm
Practice makes ehhhhhh but that’s what does it
gjryk November 29, 2018, 7:40 am
focus on your grammar first
Zyla March 7, 2020, 6:47 pm
Why don’t you fix your grammar first , i’m 8 years old and i have better grammar than you.
Jacquelyn April 15, 2020, 2:31 pm
My friend is a lvl. 10 and I’m only lvl 3 but the floor skills for level 10 are so confusing. I’m looking up the level 10 skills and they are so confusing.
Amalee February 24, 2023, 6:17 pm
Same! I am almost a level five and dont even know half of whta they are talking about
Leah February 26, 2022, 9:54 pm
Your comment is unkind. She can be a better gymnast by finding, good, friendly people to help her. It’s sad that at such a young age you’re unwilling to help.
Leah February 26, 2022, 9:53 pm
It’s okay to make mistakes, especially in grammar. At least it’s only words, whereas your comment is rude and unkind.
Jacquelyn April 15, 2020, 2:34 pm
Umm practice
Leah February 26, 2022, 9:57 pm
Hi Sarah, practice repetitively. And have fun with it! Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and if you ask for help and someone is unkind, they’re not worth your time. So find good, positive people who are. They’re more fun to learn with. I hope this helps!
Lily June 3, 2022, 8:27 pm
Practice, duhhhh
Leah smith October 29, 2022, 9:30 am
You can’t just get better a gymnastics, you have to practice as much as you can. I understand gymnastics is the hardest sport out there .

Hailey April 22, 2017, 10:13 am
Maybe you could work at home on skills that are a little bit higher than your level. Make sure they’re not to hard or you could get hurt. I’m not saying i’m professional or anything though I’m only a level 4
Anita Bathe May 2, 2017, 5:18 pm
How can I get my kickover, I’ve been practicing for almost a year
just me June 12, 2017, 1:20 am
Use a hill it helps so much
Do a lot of back bends and front
limbers
Emma January 28, 2018, 9:18 am
Try walking your hands closer to your feet, lean your shoulders a little bit forward over your hands, then try your kick over 🙂 That’s pretty much what worked for me!
Aailyah June 19, 2019, 4:52 pm
Try using a wall it helps
maddie May 11, 2017, 4:45 pm

I’m a level 3 gymnast self taught and I really need my back handspring
Irene Sanchez September 13, 2020, 9:21 pm
If you want to get your back handspring, you should watch Anna Mcnulty’s video on it. Also do back limbers, back walkovers, etc.

gigi June 9, 2017, 9:10 pm
Hi. Is a single bar release required for Level 10?
Thanks.
emma :) December 9, 2018, 12:16 pm
no, you don’t have to have a single bar release move for level ten. however, you need two releases. examples include a bail/shoot-half, pac, hecht, and maloney
annie leblance June 14, 2017, 3:08 pm

Alexus July 23, 2017, 10:56 pm
I was a level 2 then I quite to do cheerleading
Sad sam August 14, 2017, 5:49 pm
I still can’t do a kickover after trying for 2 years I suck
Emma January 28, 2018, 9:24 am
Trust me, if anyone sucks it’s me It took me 3 years to get my kick over, but that’s because I didn’t practice at home. Here are my tips for you: try walking your hands closer to your feet, lean your shoulders a little bit forward over your hands, then try your kick over. If that doesn’t work, try doing a bridge in front of a wall and start walking your feet up it until you can successfully kick over. Each time you do it, try to walk up a little less, and you’ll have it on flat ground in no time 🙂
P.S. omg sorry for the super long comment
Ruby August 1, 2023, 11:44 am
No you don’t suck at gymnastics . You just need to keep on practicing then you’ll get there .
Ashlea November 16, 2017, 5:51 am
How do I get better at gymnastics when I practice at home, school, park and at gymnastics classes??
Liz December 23, 2017, 8:39 pm
I’m about a level 4 gymnast and I’m 13 do is still have a chance to get to the level I need to be at for college gymnastics? ( I think it’s level 10)
adriana January 6, 2018, 11:30 pm
Usually the rule of thumb for getting into college gymnastics is that your gymnastics level should be the same as your grade. (so 3rd grade, level 3 and 7th grade, level 7 etc.) Scince most colleges would recruit you in your sophmore or junior year of high school, I would say that depending on your gym and how fast girls at your gym normally move up, you could still have a chance at college gymnastics, even though you would probably have to skip a level or two.
Kailey Payne January 29, 2018, 5:34 pm
Very unlikely but if you train really hard for maybe 20 hours a week or more you might be able to.
But probably not.
College gymnastics is my dream and I am a level 7/8 and I am 12, but I still am not that confident
Libby Grey February 4, 2018, 10:10 am
hi I can do everything I am mint like I’m in level 13 now and when I get to level 15 I train for the Olympics and I’m only 9
Jaclyn March 28, 2018, 5:20 pm
There is no level 13…
Jacquelyn April 15, 2020, 2:33 pm
That’s not even possible you don’t even train for the Olympics until you’re like 14 or 15 years old you can’t be 9 to train for the Olympics you’re way too young
Sophie March 13, 2018, 1:24 am
I’m about to start nlp in Australia and is wondering what the difference between The Australian programme and the American program is
Sophie March 13, 2018, 1:26 am
I think im around level 5
Dylan Bird April 23, 2018, 1:06 pm
I was at Level 8 but I quit because too many of my friends made fun of me. What should I do
Emma October 15, 2018, 3:47 pm
They are only making fun of you bc your amazing, and their jealous! I would love to be level 8 but sadly I know that will never happen. Please don’t quit when you are so good, trust me if your friends don’t support your gymnastics than find better friends.
P.S I’m only level 5 and would not quit bc of a friend, their not worth it.
Dylan Bird October 17, 2018, 5:47 pm
Thank you so much!!! I’m starting gymnastics again, and left my old friends. I’m sure your amazing too:)
Emma October 17, 2018, 5:49 pm

Faith August 2, 2018, 2:37 pm

Emma October 15, 2018, 3:51 pm

Abby November 27, 2018, 4:18 pm

brig August 7, 2018, 10:36 am
ok so i want to start gymnastics and i’m. it like 7 i’m older so i think i would be in level 7 on the floor. so could i be in different levels for different things because i’m best at the floor but like i don’t really know the skills what would happen?
nyla June 5, 2019, 9:25 pm
no you would definitely have to be on the same level for each event. Keep working hard and you can be just as good as you are on floor on all the other events.
A August 12, 2018, 12:22 pm
Hi I’m going into 8th grade (13) and I can only do back handsprings and backflips on a trampoline, but I have my Ariel and front walkover/handspring I. The ground. If I start gymnastics will I be able to make a team and/or get my skills on floor?
Emma Jane October 17, 2018, 5:51 pm
All gyms are different, most wouldn’t let you join team with those skills, but yours might be different.
jmuymdjdsderf November 21, 2020, 9:04 am
im a level 1 gymnast but i also am very confusing im level 1 and have a skill from level 4 and level 3 and 5 and 2 and also in beam i have skills from higher levels and right now im trying to get my walking handstand what do i doo
Nikki October 2, 2018, 11:17 am
How do I get my gymnastics teacher to realize
I need to get moved up? I can do all the requirements.
Liz January 23, 2020, 12:35 am
Unfortunately sometimes that doesn’t matter. My daughter competed Level 8 missing Regionals with over 36 AA by 2 spots (1st time ever in Mass that Regionals cut off was over a 36), next year had all Level 9 skills, still made to compete another year of Level 8, but doing Level 9 routines (back handspring layout series on beam, double back dismount off bars, front full and front lay front lay tumbling passes to name a few of the major skills). Different gyms have different criteria to move up – some require 2+ years at certain levels, even if State AA Champ year 1, others will require to be TOP 3 @ States, some only require hitting the minimum score, with or without all next level skills, some require min score + skills. All you can do is ask what exactly you need to do to be moved up. Then work as hard as you can to get to where they want. If you don’t agree with your gym’ s requirements/opinion about you (if they require giants on bars or a back handspring back handspring series on beam for Level 6 – as some gyms do, even though not required by USA Gymnastics for level 6 ), you could consider going to a different gym.
Madison January 2, 2021, 12:16 pm
Okay okay that’s a little too much words
Nikki October 2, 2018, 11:21 am
How do you get a back tuck I’ve tried for a year. Sometimes I get it and sometimes I don’t.
Jade October 17, 2018, 5:55 pm
Practice, and don’t give up, also make sure you know how to properly shift your weight and control it every time. What level are you? I’m level 10 so back tucks are like SO easy for me!
Sunny February 22, 2023, 7:36 pm
That is a little show off but ok…
Sunny February 22, 2023, 7:41 pm
Please DO NOT monitor your weight it is definitely of good for your mental or physical health. But you can practice really hard and maybe talk to your coaches about what needs to be done.
Abby November 27, 2018, 4:16 pm

There’s one that Is $350 a month that I would love to go to but too expensive. Anyways I have my back full, beam bhs. I want to become a college gymnast so bad. Any advice to help get me there? Also press handstand tips?
