Emma April 24, 2017, 3:34 am
Hi I’m eleven and I’m about to start gymnastics. I did it when I was 4-7 but I had to quit because of dance. I taught my self some stuff like walkovers, limbers and a front handspring but I don’t know anything about bar vault. I completely forgot everything I learnt when I was little on them and I’m scared I’m gonna be put with the little kids because I’m bad at bar and vault.
Is there anything I can do to practise bar and vault that I can do at home ??
aliah the gymnast April 24, 2017, 2:49 pm

Hi Kaitlyn! Hang in there. You’ll get it. Working on your shoulder flexibility will help you.
Kaitlyn Komnenus June 10, 2017, 4:14 am
Is it a little weird that I’m 13 and could never afford gymnastics practice or lessons but i want to be a gymnast and I’m starting at level 1? Cause i would love to be a gymnast. But I’m worried I’ll be made fun of.

alfie October 1, 2017, 9:09 pm
I love this website. I just made it to level 4. I am a self taught gymnast so its harder to get some skills, but if i could do it anyone can.
Katie Luong November 12, 2017, 2:48 pm
I love gymnastics but I can’t go to gymnastics class. Any advice with helping me learn myself?
Soph March 17, 2018, 8:06 am
Use this website to guide you, and watch YouTube videos to help you. If you really want to learn, put all your time and energy into this sport. If you can’t do that (due to school) that’s fine but it is recommended
gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:45 pm
Sounds like your hard work is paying off, Alfie!
alfie October 1, 2017, 9:12 pm
try to wrap your knees tightly in injury bandages, i hope this helps.
Katie Luong November 11, 2017, 5:30 pm
Do you have any advice with the kickover? I almost got it but my arms always seem to bend and I hit my head.
Soph March 17, 2018, 8:00 am
Strengthen your arms, and when you are trying to kickover rock back and forth and when u go in while rocking kick as hard as u can. That’s what I did and I did it!
Gianna co manager of LGAA November 11, 2017, 11:51 pm
Hi, I teach gymnastics classes, I have a problem I can’t really do most moves myself is there any classes in Everett, Mill creek, or Bothell? I need help and FAST!
LOL November 23, 2017, 4:38 am
Well, as a Coach, You should know how to Teach, be nice and Remember to push your Students to more harder skills. Give them Water Breaks and Don’t give too much Conditioning 2-5 Types of Conditioning are fine. Plus, You can’t be a Gymnastics Coach if you don’t know Gymnastics or how to do a Certain Gymnastics Skill. First, if your teaching a level, EXAMPLE Level 1, You should atleast be a Level 3. For Each level your Teaching, you should be Atleast 2 Levels above the level you’re teaching.
Bri December 2, 2017, 10:48 pm
then how do you coach level 10 gymnast?
Caitie November 19, 2017, 12:55 pm
This is really handy
gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:47 pm
Glad you think so!
LOL November 23, 2017, 4:35 am
I’m a Self Taught Gymnast. I’m 10 and I started Gymnastics this year. I’m just wondering about my gymnastics in the Future. Is it OK If your a Self Taught Gymnast and I’m in Level 2 and I want lessons for Level 3. Will there be a Test or something? Or will I have to get a Certificate to go to Level 3? Or is it OK To just go to Level 3 from ?? When your a Self Taught Gymnast?
Soph March 17, 2018, 8:01 am
Let you coach now.
layla November 30, 2017, 9:25 pm
i’m 13 years old also and i feel like i’m to old to join gymnastics
gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:49 pm
Hi Layla, If it’s something you really want to learn then you should join gymnastics. You’re never too old to learn something new!
Cat December 15, 2017, 5:23 pm
Thank you very much! It is quite easy though. I just moved up to level 1 and I want to know what I need to learn.
gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:49 pm
You’re welcome Cat!
Maddie December 22, 2017, 11:19 pm
I am 13 years old and I am starting back at gymnastics I am not really flexible so I can’t do a back walkover or a split into a handstand ant tips
Soph March 17, 2018, 8:04 am
Stretch and do conditioning, also back walkovers are pretty hard (I can’t do one myself yet) but use this website to help you. Put all of your time into this sport, if you don’t love it quit. Also for the split handstand get a spotter, do a handstand and get the spotter to put your legs into a split handstand. If u don’t have a spotter do it on the wall.
gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:51 pm
Hi Maddie, the only thing you can do is keep practicing and focus on stretching and flexibility exercises. It takes time so have patience!
Soph March 17, 2018, 8:02 am

Hi Hailey, we’re sure you’ll learn fast! It’s never easy starting back when you’re older and there are younger kids in your group. We hope it all worked out!

gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:54 pm
Yes! Flexibility is a big component of gymnastics so your coach should work with you on your splits!
Bella March 17, 2019, 8:12 pm
I’m self taught. This is super helpful because I really want the same experience. This was super simple, and I went to a local gym to develop the skills, since I have no equipment. Thx!
gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:54 pm
That’s great to hear Bella!
Hayley March 31, 2019, 9:47 am
Hi I love gymnastics ,but I don’t know how I am going to practice. We don’t have bars or beams or anything here.
gymnasticshq April 3, 2019, 3:54 pm
Hi Hayley, You can put a strip of tape down on the floor and pretend it’s a beam to get the feel of walking on a 4 inch beam! Bars are definitely tricky to do at home unless you have your own bar at home. Good luck!
Loranne De Buyser May 7, 2019, 10:39 am
