Starts Saturday, May 1st 2021
They are those skills that often get overlooked and yet they're SO important to your routine and your score. Some coaches think it's enough to practice them a few times across the floor BUT we know better. So we created a series of drills and exercises that you can do at home in less than 20 minutes a day that can potentially improve your split leaps and turns.
Think again! Did you know that leaps and turns, if not done to perfection, have the potential to rack up a ton of deductions in your routine? Elite gymnasts know the importance of these elements and can work on them for hours just to get them right. But we bet you're not spending hours on your split leaps and turns, right?
The truth is, even though you're spending a lot of hours in the gym, you're focusing on learning and perfecting the bigger skills. If you ask any judge they'll tell you that the dance elements in your floor and beam routines are the most neglected skills and yet the ones most worth focusing on. Not only will better leaps and turns make your routine stand out, they'll WOW the judges, potentially earning you a higher score!
We thought not. But read on to learn more about how this challenge will work and how you can get started. OR YOU CAN SKIP ALL THAT AND CLICK THE BUTTON BELOW TO GET STARTED NOW.
STEP 1: You'll Sign up for SkillTrakker
At only $7 for the monthly challenge, it's the best bet you'll ever make. Join a community of other gymnasts all working towards a common goal, in this case, a better split leap series.
STEP 2: You'll Login & Start Completing the Daily Challenges
You'll get an email with instructions on how to create your account. Then you'll login and start completing the daily challenges.
STEP 3: After You Complete the Challenge You Can Redeem your Points for Prizes*
After you complete challenges you will earn points which you can redeem for prizes in the SkillTrakker Prize Store!
That's a great question and we have a great answer for you.
The amount of progress you make during this challenge will depend 100% on how much effort you put into your daily challenges! These exercises are designed to give you the most bang for your buck over the next 31 days. But if you don't do them or only do them halfway, then chances are you won't see much of a difference between your day 1 video and your day 31 video.
BUT...if you put in the daily effort and try your hardest, you can make great progess! For example, Maddie is a gymnast who put in the work everyday and she improved her split leap in both amplitude and form with a previous SkillTrakker Split Leap Challenge. Watch her progress below.
I train in the gym a lot of hours during the week and I'm worried I won't have the time to complete this challenge?
We know how much you train which is why we created a challenge that can be done in a short amount of time each day. You can do the exercises in the morning before you go to school or even right before bed. These exercises were designed to be focused and effective so it doesn't take much time each day to see results.
My coach doesn't want me practicing at home because s/he's worried I'll pick up bad habits.
We understand why your coach wouldn't want you to develop any bad habits and we don't want you to either. Luckily the exercises you're going to do during this Leaps and Turns Challenge are all ones that will benefit you. We provide you with videos so you can see the proper way to do the drills and because split leaps and turns aren't major elements like backhandsprings or giants we're certain you'll get more good out of this challenge rather than pick up bad habits. In fact, any work at all on your leaps and turns will be beneficial to you.
Is this a LIVE challenge?
Yes! You'll be doing the daily challenges live with the other participants of the challenge. You'll be able to track your progress and see where you stand on the Leaderboard. It's a great way to stay motivated and have a little friendly competition with other gymnasts working on the same goal as you.
What exactly IS SkillTrakker? I can't really tell.
First and foremost, SkillTrakker is an online community of other gymnasts who are working on mastering different gymnastics skills. In SkillTrakker you can keep track of the different skills you're learning on each event and watch the progess you're making. You can even download certificates as you master each skill! You earn points for completing daily challenges and with your points you can win prizes in the SkillTrakker Store. In the daily feed you can see what other gymnasts are learning and cheer them on through comments and high fives. Basically, SkillTrakker is a really cool way to practice your gymnastics skills while staying motivated and belonging to a community of other cool gymnasts like yourself!
How long is this challenge?
This challenge lasts 31 days. It starts on Saturday, May 1st and ends on Monday, May 31st.
Does it cost money to join the Better Leaps & Turns Challenge?
Yes, in order to participate in the SkillTrakker Challenge you must be signed up for SkillTrakker which costs $7 for the month. At only $7, this is an incredible deal!! You'll not only get daily challenges, community, and accountability, but you'll also get a prize* and you'll improve your leaps and turns! In fact, the cost of a typical recreational gymnastics class in the U.S. averages about $20/hr. The cost for private gymnastics lessons is at least double that. With SkillTrakker you get skill-specific exercises to complete at home , in addition to a tracking tool and an entire gymnastics community, for less than 25 cents per day!!! Oh, and don't forget about the prize you can earn for completing all of the daily challenges for the duration of the challenge.
What happens after the challenge is over?
After the challenge is over you can continue to participate in SkillTrakker monthly (for $7/month) to see even better results. Skill-specific challenges (like the Better Leaps & Turns Challenge) occur approximately every two months. In the off-months we have created themed challenges meant to increase your mastery of mindset tools along with a variety of skills. The Leaderboard gets cleared at the beginning of every month and you'll still earn points towards prizes in the SkillTrakker store. Most challengers find that their skills really see improvement after three to six months of consistent effort with SkillTrakker.

"That beam challenge last month helped me so much!!! I increased my score from a 9.2 to a 9.475. I was so happy with this routine this time!!!"
-Skye, Xcel Gold Gymnast
"Almost a year ago she participated in the handstand challenge. It taught her the power of being consistent. We (including her) were blown away by the progress made just from doing 10-15 minutes of practice everyday."
- Patty, mom of Level 4 Gymnast
"We love how #skilltrakker challenges allow for the girls to take charge of their home conditioning and encourage them to work hard outside of the gym to reach their goals!"
-Kim, mom of an Xcel Platinum and a Level 2 gymnast
I want to help you put in the hard work and consistent effort needed to improve your gymnastics skills.
If you do all the challenge exercises for 30 days, and you aren't happy with the challenge or SkillTrakker, simply email me and I will give you your money back.
